이번 EnM 31권 1호에는 Namgok Lecture와 7편의 종설, 그리고 17편의 원저가 실렸습니다. Namgok Lecture에서는 2015년 남곡학술상을 수상하신 고려의대 최경묵 교수님께서 인슐린 저항성, 염증, 및 죽상동맥경화증에 대한 organokine (adipokine, myokine, and hepatokine) 들의 역할에 대한 전반적인 리뷰를 해주셨습니다. 서울아산병원 의생명연구소 유현주 교수님께서는 “Understanding Metabolomics in Biomedical Research” 라는 제목으로 최근 많은 주목을 받고 있는 대사체학 (metabolomics) 연구 분야에 대해서 자세한 소개를 해주셨습니다. 충남의대 조은경 교수님께서는 “Small Heterodimer Partner and Innate Immune Regulation” 라는 제목으로 TLR4 매개 염증 반응과 NLRP3 inflammasome activation 에 있어서SHP의 역할을 설명해 주셨습니다. 아주의대 최용준 교수님께서 “Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry: Beyond Bone Mineral Density Determination” 라는 제목으로 골밀도 측정 이외에 적용될 수 있는 Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry 의 역할에 대하여 정리하여 주셨습니다. 서울의대 송욱 교수님께서는 “In Vivo Rodent Models of Skeletal Muscle Adaptation to Decreased Use” 라는 제목으로 다양한 상황에서 근육사용이 줄어듦에 따라 골격근은 어떻게 변화, 적응을 하는지 리뷰해 주셨습니다. 아주의대 김대중 교수님께서는 임상예측모델을 어떻게 개발하고 적용할 수 있는지 그 방법들을 자세히 기술하여 주셨습니다. 서울의대 오태정 교수님께서는 “In Vivo Models for Incretin Research: From the Intestine to the Whole Body” 라는 제목으로 주요 incretin 실험 연구 결과들을 리뷰 하면서 incretin 의 physiology를 정리하여 주셨습니다. 마지막으로 경북의대 이인규 교수님께서vascular calcification의 mechanism에 대한 최근 연구들을 정리하여 주셨고 또한 vascular calcification 의 발생에 있어 PDK4의 역할에 대하여 소개하여 주셨습니다. 이 밖에도 다양한 내분비 영역에서 16편의 임상논문과 1편의 실험연구 논문들이 원저로서 이번 호에 실렸습니다.
