이번 EnM 31권 4호에는 7개의 Review articles과 8편의 Original articles이 실렸습니다. 호주 Monash University의 Duncan J. Topliss 교수님께서 “Clinical Update in Aspects of the Management of Autoimmune Thyroid Diseases” 라는 제목으로 국민건강영양조사 자료 및 국민건강보험공단자료를 바탕으로 우리나라에 당뇨병 관련 역학에 대해서 알려주셨습니다. 강북삼성병원 이원영 교수님께서는 “Insulin Secretory Capacity and Insulin Resistance in Korean Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients”  라는 제목으로 IgG4-related Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, small molecule ligand (SML) thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor antagonist therapy등에 대한 소개를 해주셨습니다. 세종대의 황성순 교수님께서 “Bile Acid Nuclear Receptor Farnesoid X Receptor: Therapeutic Target for Nonalcoholic Fatty liver Disease” 라는 제목으로 farnesoid X receptor (FXR)의 생리학적인 역할과 NAFLD의 pathogenesis에서 어떤 역할을 하는지에 대해서 리뷰해 주셨습니다. 연세대학교 생화학 분자생물학교실의 김재우 교수님께서“How to Begin Molecular Research of Metabolic Disease” 라는 제목으로 metabolic diseases영역에서 분자 연구를 시작하는데 필요한 기본적인 개념에 대해서 소개해 주셨습니다. 그 외에도 “Epidemiology of Childhood Obesity in Korea” , “Brain Regulation of Energy Metabolism” , 그리고 “Current Status of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery in Korea” 라는 제목으로 총 3편의 비만 관련 종설이 실렸습니다.

  원저로는 Primary Aldosteronism, Cushing Syndrome, Klinefelter Syndrome등 다양한 내분비영역의 질환에 관한 임상연구가 실렸습니다. 부산대학교 손석만 교수님께서 “Prevalent Rate of Nonalbuminuric Renal insufficiency and Its Association with Cardiovascular Disease Event in Korean Type 2 Diabetes”라는 제목으로 1,067명의 제 2형 당뇨병환자 자료를 분석한 결과, nonalbuminuric stage ≥3 CKD환자가 20% 정도 있으며, albuminuria 및 GFR의 감소가 모두 심혈관계질환의 증가와 연관되어 있음을 보여주었습니다.
